Barclays has been working with LOD since 2010 through an extended series of On Site assignments, mostly long term support for particular projects or resourcing gaps in their legal teams.
Barclays approached us when they needed an Intellectual Property lawyer to cover additional workload coming into the legal team. LOD recommended a full-time IP specialist, LOD Lawyer Neil, who was a senior IP lawyer with extensive in-house experience. During his assignment, Neil also supported the Head of Global IP with the reorganisation and centralisation of Barclays’ IP function.
We were very impressed that LOD supplied such a high quality lawyer in Neil. The depth of his in-house experience and the high quality of his work made him the perfect fit for us and he was able to take on important and complex work immediately. Neil became an essential member of our team, as evidenced by the length of time that we worked with him. His ability to build relationships with key business units and stakeholders has been a particular asset to us. We would definitely continue to use LOD for alternative resourcing requirements.

Being able to work with an organisation such as Barclays is just one of the many benefits of working with LOD. My assignment has stretched and challenged me, and has given me a panoramic view of IP in a very large business. The projects I have worked on have been varied and interesting and I feel that I have made a real impact on the business’ IP function. It has been excellent experience for me.
